The infamous 7-7-07 Wedding Date

***UPDATE*** The images from Sarah & Quinn's Wedding are finally complete. Click HERE to view their slideshow or HERE to go to their full image gallery.

Without even realizing it, Sarah & Quinn picked a very popular date to get married. It's looking like it may be one of, if not the biggest wedding date we know of. Stories even filled the evening news of nuptials taking place all over the country and some venues even reported couples tying the knot at midnight Friday night because the actual day Saturday was already booked! I'm not quite sure I understand the appeal of the day itself, but Sarah told me they didn't even realize the numbered coincidence until they had already picked the July date.None the less it felt like any other wedding. A wonderful couple with an amazing and fun family extremely excited to share in the celebration of the bride and groom. The rain teased us a couple times that day, as I know it did in many places all over the state, but managed to hold off for the ceremony. Now once the ceremony was finished, that is a completely different story! I haven't seen rain like that in ages! The sky just let go and at times, I couldn't even hear the band playing next to us over the roar of the rain pounding on the top of the canopy tent. We managed to squeeze in the group shots during a break in the weather, but the rain cooled things down to a wonderful temperature. It was the first wedding of the summer that I got out my jacket!
I wanted to say congratulations to Sarah & Quinn! I haven't known you for long, but it has been a pleasure getting to know you, your friends, and family. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your day. We are working on the images and should be finished in the next couple of weeks!

Lind-Bennett Wedding- June 23rd, 2007

***UPDATE*** The final images are finally up and ready for viewing and ordering! We want to thank everyone for being so patient in waiting for these to be ready. It took us a bit longer than we expected due to the sheer numbers we were dealing with. We really did have a wonderful time meeting everyone and sharing in this special day with Joanna & Robbie. Click HERE to view the final gallery.
June 23rd was definitely the biggest wedding we will have photographed this summer. Robbie & Joanna were married at the top of Aspen Mountain on just a picture perfect day. The weather was great and well, Robbie & Joanna are just adorable. Their love is just so incredibly obvious, and we had an amazing time at their wedding. We want to say thank you to all their friends and family for being so easy to work with that day and also for being so patient awaiting all the final images! There are just so many! Actually there are more images than I have ever taken at ANY wedding, and on top of that we had a 2nd full time shooter (Thank you to Bruce, an old college friend, who came from Grand Junction to help us out!) and my assistant Crystal who was also shooting as well! So needless to say it is taking me quite a bit longer to go through the images than normal! We are just trying to do it day by day along with all the other weddings and portrait sessions we are doing every day. So just to help tie everyone over and just give you a taste, we have put together a little mini slideshow HERE as a preview until we get the entire wedding finished. Enjoy!
I almost forgot! A few days before the wedding, I meet up with Joanna and Robbie and took some fun non-wedding images that we used on the website cards that were passed out at the wedding. Click HERE to see a slideshow of those images. Or HERE for the full gallery of pre-wedding images.

Photographers photographing photographers... gee that's a mouthful!

We've been concentrating so much on all the weddings we've been doing, I keep forgetting to post up some of our portrait sessions as well!

Early in the year, we participated in a bridal fair at the Hotel Colorado here in town. My husband and I were lucky enough to be set up next to a great couple, Scott & Heather King who own A Funky Little Mountain Flower. Their floral work is really amazing and through the day we all got to know each other. I was really excited when they called and asked me to do a fun couples session with the two of them! This year Scott and Heather have also started to offer photography along with many other services and it is always fun to put photographers on the other side of the lens. It's torture! haha! :) It's also a huge compliment for another artist to ask for your work. I hope they like their images and D and I just had a blast. We laughed so much I'm surprised there are images of anything else! Thanks guys!

Another June 16th Wedding! Tiffanie & Ben

As you can tell, we had a very busy day the 16th of June! Parade in the morning, then 2 weddings in Redstone. Tiffanie & Ben were a great couple. With a very short engagement, Tiffanie called to inquire about our services and I was already booked for the date. After giving her some numbers of other photographers and her doing some calling around, she wasn't having any luck and called back to see if I had any more suggestions. I wanted to help so badly and was trying to think of ways we could help them out. I talked to my assistant Crystal and she decided she was ready to do her first solo wedding. We called Tiffanie and gave her the option of using Crystal as her photographer and she was more than willing to give her the opportunity. I knew my wedding wasn't going to be a late one, and I was literally just down the road if she needed anything. So one week before the big day, we all signed up to give it a shot! (we thought we were completely out of our minds to add one more thing to the calendar for the day! We couldn't help but laugh about it!) Well needless to say Crystal did an amazing job. I have to say that I am really proud of her, and I knew she could do it. Heck, when I showed up, there wasn't anything left to do but shoot some candids and enjoy not being the main photographer for a change! ha! Crystal put these images together for the blog and she decided to include a couple I took (even though she really had it covered. I think she was just trying to include me) ;) Tiffanie and Ben's Pictures are complete!!! Click HERE to view a slideshow of their images as well as their complete gallery. We both wanted to wish Tiffanie & Ben the best! We both had a wonderful time getting to know you and your families.

June 16th- Angela & Randy Davis

Again this year, I found myself at the beautiful Redstone Inn for the union of a great couple. Angela & Randy joined their two families together in front of friends and family for a very emotional and inspirational celebration. I hope all your future days together are full of fun and laughter! What else could it be with 5 girls!? (Randy, I hope you're ready to fend off all the boys lined up to date all your beautiful little girls through the years! haha) Congratulations you two, and here are a few images for fun. Hopefully we will have all the images ready very soon and feel free to check back here for a link to the final gallery.

So I'm not very good at this Blog game!

Wow, I am really behind! Where on earth did the last month go?!? We started the blog an I thought it would be easy to keep up, and then all the sudden I look up and realize that I let almost an entire month go by without posting.

Well today is the day! I am going to get caught up! So be prepared for lots of info that I'm sure all of you have been waiting for!
